The English TV presenter will leave his hosting duties on The Late Late Show in summer next year after more than eight years, broadcaster CBS has announced.
The 40-year-old father-of-three, who is perhaps best known in Britain for his role as likeable mate Neil “Smithy” Smith in sitcom Gavin And Stacey, based in Essex and Wales, enjoyed favourable reviews when he was beamed into living rooms across the US for the first time at the helm of one of the country’s most popular television shows in 2015.
The comedian took over as presenter of The Late Late Show from Scottish-born comedian Craig Ferguson, who spent 10 years as host.
Corden, who grew up in Buckinghamshire, discovered a talent for making people laugh while at school, to the detriment of his educational achievements, and got his stage acting break in the musical Martin Guerre at the age of 17, although he quit because he found it boring.
The star, who harboured dreams of being in a boy band as a teenager, went on to land a TV role in a Channel 4 music business spoof Boyz Unlimited.
He then played a regular role in the ITV drama Fat Friends, where he became pally with actress Ruth Jones.
Roles in the stage and film version of Alan Bennett’s The History Boys and the movie Starter For Ten ensured he became a familiar face, and he developed into a national favourite thanks to the comedy series Gavin And Stacey, which he co-wrote with Jones and which graduated from BBC Three to BBC One.

In an interview with The Mail on Sunday’s Event Magazine in 2018, Corden paid tribute to late singer George Michael, saying Carpool Karaoke would never have happened without him.

He told the publication: “It wouldn’t exist without him and his ability to laugh at himself. No question.”

Más allá de sorprender en más de un tramo con alguna nueva faceta de sus personajes, el filme logra trocar la comedia por la violencia, lo cotidiano por lo trágico, el gesto irrisorio por el incendio voraz de la comisaría. Todo esto filmado con una cámara que no se siente: las imágenes exhiben un estilo invisible y de raigambre clásica, pero atento a fulguraciones surrealistas, un aspecto no solo manifestado por la presencia del enano, sino también por los fuegos voraces que son captados desde lejos.
El tema policial y el misterio que rodea al asesino no identificado pronto pasan a no importar demasiado al espectador. Lo que llega a nuestros ojos es más bien un fascinante estudio de personajes de una complejidad muy rara de ver, quienes indignan y a la vez conmueven, y hacen de este pueblo un infierno que, a pesar de todo, es capaz de redimirse mediante actos expiatorios y piadosos que dan un aliento universal a la película.
Algunos han visto un aire de familia “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri“, “Fargo” y “Sin lugar para los débiles”, estas últimas dirigidas por los hermanos Ethan y Joel Coen. “Sin lugar para los débiles”, basada en una novela de Cormac McCarthy –sucesor de William Faulkner–, quizá pueda relacionarse más con la película de McDonagh: es el mismo universo de pueblos olvidados, crímenes, ‘basura blanca’ y pasiones indómitas muchas veces selladas con sangre. Right before Christmas, Feldstein took to her Instagram to wish Roberts a happy birthday, and of course she did so with an adorable image and caption, calling her girlfriend “the most remarkable human ever to exist” and “the girl with the warmest heart, the most expansive imagination and the most exceptional brain.” She went on to add that she’s “pretty convinced you’re actually made of magic.”
January 2020: A Career Milestone
For her brilliant work in the film Booksmart, which remains a career highlight for Feldstein, the actor was nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical category. While she ended up losing to Awkwafina in The Farewell, it was still a special evening for her, as she and Roberts got to walk the red carpet again and enjoy the night together.
August 2020: Anniversary Magic
Instead of going the traditional route when it comes to anniversary posts, Feldstein instead opted to use a comic book-style cartoon of her and her love. She captioned the image, simply, “We’re two!!! happy anniversary to my magic girl.”
June 2021: Talk Of The Future
In an interview with Bustle, Feldstein admitted that not only are things serious with Roberts, but that they are already looking forward to a bright future together. In fact, she claimed she could see them “spending their lives together and starting a family.”
October 2021: More Work And More Play
With public health restrictions relaxing (at least temporarily), Feldstein and Roberts were able to celebrate Halloween with the rest of the world. The couple dressed up as Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl, absolutely nailing their roles.
Before November rolled around, it was announced that Feldstein and Roberts would be working together again, this time on an anthology titled Girls Can’t Shoot (& Other Lies), itself an adaptation of the bestselling essay collection Feminists Don’t Wear Pink (and Other Lies). A number of well-known female Hollywood actors that wrote for the original series are set to star, such as Jameela Jamil, Kat Dennings, and Feldstein. Roberts is on board to co-executive produce alongside Mark Gordon.

A selection of prominent Utah writers from the Utah@125 project—a collection of 125-word essays and poems to celebrate Utah—will present eight simultaneous readings (plus a ninth virtual reading) at independent book stores around the state on Saturday, April 30, 2022 (Independent Bookstore Day, duh). The scheme places emphasis on the use of digital platforms and developing their potential for distribution and audience engagement. Budgets for these projects must not exceed $250,000.

“I’m thinking for example of Christian Sparkes, whose film Cast No Shadow won seven awards including Best Atlantic Film in the Atlantic Film Festival; Julie Lambert, with Un Film De Chasse De Filles, which won three awards at the Quebec City Film Festival; Kyle Thomas, with The Valley Below, which screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Vancouver International Film Festival; and Sonia Bonspille Boileau, whose film Le Dep will be featured at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
“I’ve no doubt this third year’s finalists will also amaze us. Thank you to all our partners for their collaboration.”
The Talent Fund helps the film industry diversify its funding sources and promote its successes. Under the leadership of an advisory committee of eight business and community leaders, the Fund has raised more than C$15m to date from companies, foundations and individuals.
The money will be invested over a period of seven years. The Fund finances 60% of the Micro-Budget Production Program.
Hartley T Richardson, chair of the Talent Fund advisory committee, said: “I firmly believe that our industry’s successes strengthen Canada’s image on the international scene, while fostering job creation and contributing to our country’s financial success.
“Our efforts are important, because the Talent Fund allows Canadian filmmakers, and especially those of the next generation, to create more Canadian content and captivating stories. The Fund offers all Canadians a terrific opportunity to support and spotlight our homegrown talent.”

E’ la descrizione dell’innamoramento, la fase più bella di una storia ed anche quella in cui ognuno di noi rivela delle paure inconsce. Come sarà, piacerò davvero, i miei odori, il mio modo di fare l’amore? E tutto ha una risposta solo vivendo, solo cercando di esplorare quel paradiso. Pezzo che sembra avere parecchie partenze, ad ogni due battute di strofe e poi invece gioca di pazienza fino all’inciso che viene lanciato come up tempo ed invece resta inchiodato ad un formato ballata elettronica. E proprio nello stesso inciso che c’è un po’ di confusione di fondo in un arrangiamento che diventa chiassoso e che di certo non viene aiutato dal coro di voci bianche in entrata. Inutile dire che non sorvolerò poi su quell’ impèro al posto di impero, che è davvero uno schiaffo imperdonabile in pieno volto. E lo è all’italiano! Quattro

Secondo il mio parere, da quando negli ultimi anni LucaBarbarossa s’è tolto dalla testa la spada di Damocle del dover ad ogni costo impressionare le classifiche, ha trovato una nuova ispirazione di grande valore. E’ melodicamente impeccabile, si concede spazi ariosi dove cantare di sentimenti espressi con la forza della maturità e l’importanza di quanto sia potente il saperli dire, ammettere. Bella anche la partecipazione degli Extraliscio, giusti nell’intervento vocale, perfetti nella loro musicalità di sapiente miscela fra il pop e il folk tradizionale. Notevole. Otto

Un nuovo Venerdi e nuove pagelle su All Music Italia. Questa settimana ho ascoltato alcuni piacevoli ritorni, qualche bella sorpresa da un passato non troppo recente e qualche cambio di rotta che merita più approfonditi ascolti di altro materiale per capire per bene dove si stia andando.

E’ la descrizione dell’innamoramento, la fase più bella di una storia ed anche quella in cui ognuno di noi rivela delle paure inconsce. Come sarà, piacerò davvero, i miei odori, il mio modo di fare l’amore? E tutto ha una risposta solo vivendo, solo cercando di esplorare quel paradiso. Pezzo che sembra avere parecchie partenze, ad ogni due battute di strofe e poi invece gioca di pazienza fino all’inciso che viene lanciato come up tempo ed invece resta inchiodato ad un formato ballata elettronica. E proprio nello stesso inciso che c’è un po’ di confusione di fondo in un arrangiamento che diventa chiassoso e che di certo non viene aiutato dal coro di voci bianche in entrata. Secondo il mio parere, da quando negli ultimi anni LucaBarbarossa s’è tolto dalla testa la spada di Damocle del dover ad ogni costo impressionare le classifiche, ha trovato una nuova ispirazione di grande valore. E’ melodicamente impeccabile, si concede spazi ariosi dove cantare di sentimenti espressi con la forza della maturità e l’importanza di quanto sia potente il saperli dire, ammettere. Bella anche la partecipazione degli Extraliscio, giusti nell’intervento vocale, perfetti nella loro musicalità di sapiente miscela fra il pop e il folk tradizionale. Notevole. Otto

Excess mortality, which helps account for avoidable deaths from a new disease or situation, is defined by the difference between total current deaths and deaths expected based on earlier time period, usually the previous decade or so. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) calculates these numbers weekly. For this study, the CDC excess mortality data were analyzed for the period between January 3, 2020, to September 26, 2021. For regional comparison purposes, areas of the country were broken down into the Northeast, Midwest, South and West.
“Our goal was to carefully examine regional differences in COVID-19 death rates based on reliable statistical data,” says Michael Stoto, Ph.D., professor of Health Systems Administration and Population Health at the School of Nursing & Health Studies and corresponding author of the study. “Our study is the first to quantify avoidable deaths and confirm that both COVID-19 deaths and avoidable deaths disproportionately occurred in the South.”
The investigators found that regional differences in COVID-19 mortality rates have persisted throughout the pandemic. The southern part of the United States has had higher mortality rates than the rest of the U.S. since the start of summer in 2020. Since October 2020, 48% of COVID-19 deaths were in the South, which makes up 38% of the population, pointing to disproportionate outcomes regionally.
The researchers also determined that between January 2020 and September 2021 there were 895,693 excess deaths associated with COVID-19, which is 26% more than reported by other experts who track disease. Although the official total neared on one million deaths in the U.S due to COVID-19 by late April 2022, based on this undercount the scientists believe that threshold was actually passed at the beginning of 2022.
These estimates of undercounts are important because most studies have looked at excess mortality at the state and county level in the U.S., but because of small population sizes, the studies have not examined patterns over time. Some earlier studies explored the relationship between COVID-19 mortality and age, education, and other factors as well as vaccine uptake, party affiliation, and other factors. But most studies have used reported COVID-19 deaths rather than excess deaths, as compared to what Dr. Stoto and collaborators have done, and may not be as statistically reliable.
“This is one of a series of planned studies to look carefully at the response to COVID-19 in the U.S. and other countries and to learn from the experience in order to strengthen preparedness for future potential outbreaks,” says Stoto. “Our team has also looked at testing and surveillance, and other COVID-19 metrics to understand how communities have come together to effectively deal with the pandemic.”

Msc Crociere apre le vendite per l’estate 2023 con itinerari che vanno dalle mini-crociere ai viaggi di 21 notti. Tra le novità, spicca la World Europa, prima nave della flotta Msc alimentata a Gnl, che farà il proprio debutto a fine 2022 e, dopo aver trascorso la stagione invernale negli Emirati Arabi, passerà la propria prima stagione estiva nel Mediterraneo. Ventidue navi attive per 140 destinazioni in tutto il mondo, che toccheranno una quarantina di Paesi differenti. Msc Crociere apre le vendite per l’estate 2023 con itinerari che vanno dalle mini-crociere ai viaggi di 21 notti. Tra le novità, spicca la World Europa, prima nave della flotta Msc alimentata a Gnl, che farà il proprio debutto a fine 2022 e, dopo aver trascorso la stagione invernale negli Emirati Arabi, passerà la propria prima stagione estiva nel Mediterraneo. Gli itinerari di sette notti saranno caratterizzati dalle destinazioni più suggestive del mare Nostrum, con Genova, Napoli e Messina in Italia, La Valletta a Malta, Barcellona in Spagna e Marsiglia in Francia.
L’altra new entry Seascape offrirà invece crociere alternate di sette notti nei Caraibi con partenza da Miami in Florida (Usa) e ogni itinerario includerà una tappa a Ocean Cay Msc Marine Reserve, l’isola privata della compagnia alle Bahamas, così come altre tappe in destinazioni spettacolari, oltre che alle stesse Bahamas, anche a Puerto Rico, Repubblica Dominicana, Messico, isole Cayman e Giamaica.
“Saranno ben 22 le navi della flotta impegnate per il prossima anno, poiché oltre all’arrivo della World Europa e della Seascape previsto per la fine del 2022, nel 2023 arriverà anche l’Euribia – spiega il managing director di Msc Crociere, Leonardo Massa -. Il Mediterraneo si conferma quindi nostra meta protagonista indiscussa anche nella programmazione estiva del 2023, con ben 14 porti di imbarco solo in Italia”.

Msc Seashore in partenza da Genova (Italia) il sabato farà tappa verso destinazioni come Civitavecchia (Roma) e Palermo (Italia), Ibiza e Valencia (Spagna) e Marsiglia (Francia)
Msc Seaview da Genova partirà il lunedì per fare tappa a La Spezia e Civitavecchia, Cannes (Francia) e Palma di Maiorca e Barcellona (Spagna). L’itinerario perfetto per gli amanti del sole
Msc Opera partirà da Genova (Italia) la domenica e farà scalo verso destinazioni come Marsiglia (Francia), Barcellona (Spagna), La Goulette (Tunisia), Palermo (Sicilia) e Napoli (Italia)
Msc Orchestra a partire da giugno salperà per crociere di dieci notti in partenza da Genova (Italia) verso destinazioni come Marsiglia (Francia), Malaga, Cadice per Siviglia (Spagna), Lisbona (Portogallo) Alicante/Costa Blanca e Minorca (Spagna), e Olbia (Italia)
Msc World Europa offrirà ai propri ospiti le destinazioni più gettonate del Mediterraneo occidentale: farà homeport a Genova (Italia) da dove partirà la domenica verso destinazioni come Napoli e Messina (Italia), La Valletta (Malta), Barcellona (Spagna) e Marsiglia (Francia)
Mediterraneo orientale:
Msc Divinasalperà da Civitavecchia per Roma (Italia) il venerdì e farà scalo verso destinazioni come Siracusa, Taranto, le spiagge mozzafiato in Puglia (Italia) e Santorini e Mykonos (Grecia)
Msc Lirica da Venezia il lunedì e da Bari (Italia) la domenica farà scalo nelle isole greche di Cefalonia/Argostoli, Santorini e Creta
Msc Sinfonia in partenza la domenica da Venezia farà scalo verso destinazioni come Brindisi (Italia), l’isola greca di Mykonos e la destinazione continentale greca del Pireo per Atene, così come Spalato o Zara (Croazia)
Msc Armonia farà homeport a Venezia da dove il sabato partirà verso destinazioni come Kotor (Montenegro), le famose isole greche di Mykonos e Santorini (Grecia) e Bari (Italia)
Msc Musica dal Pireo/Atene (Grecia) la domenica farà scalo verso destinazioni come Santorini (Grecia), Kusadasi (Turchia), Haifa (Israele), le isole di Limassol (Cipro) e Mykonos (Grecia)
Msc Splendida da Trieste/Venezia (Italia) il sabato farà scalo verso destinazioni come Ancona (Italia), la pittoresca città di Dubrovnik (Croazia), Bari (Italia), Corfù (Grecia) e Kotor (Montenegro)
Nord Europa:
Msc Euribia eseguirà spettacolari itinerari di sette notti di navigazione per i fiordi norvegesi con partenze settimanali da Kiel (Germania) con scali tra cui Copenaghen (Danimarca); Hellesylt (Norvegia) per il Geirangerfjord; così come Alesund e Flaam, sempre in Norvegia
Msc Fantasia da Kiel (Germania) offrirà due itinerari alternativi di lunghezza compresa tra sette e 11 notti verso i fiordi norvegesi o le capitali baltiche
Msc Grandiosa da Southampton (Regno Unito) offrirà itinerari tra sette e 15 notti nei fiordi norvegesi, Svezia e Danimarca, la costa atlantica dell’Europa e crociere più lunghe alle isole Canarie (Spagna) e nel Mediterraneo, oltre ad alcune brevi pause di tre e quattro notti
Msc Poesia da Warnemunde/Berlino (Germania) e Copenaghen (Danimarca) offrirà itinerari di lunghezza compresa tra sette e 21 notti verso le capitali baltiche e quattro fiordi norvegesi. Le crociere più lunghe includono una crociera epica con tappe in diverse destinazioni tra Islanda e Groenlandia
Msc Preziosa partirà da Amburgo (Germania) con offrirà itinerari da nove a 15 notti a Capo Nord e Spitsbergen in Norvegia o crociere in Islanda con tappe a Reykjavik Isafjordur e Akureyri e le isole Orkney e Shetland nel Regno Unito. Mentre le crociere in Irlanda includeranno scali a Cork e Dublino, Belfast, Glasgow e Liverpool saranno le tappe in Regno Unito. A partire da settembre 2023, la Preziosa offrirà crociere di sette notti con tappe in cinque delle città più cool d’Europa: Amburgo (Germania) la domenica, Zeebrugge per Bruges e Bruxelles (Belgio), Rotterdam/Amsterdam (Paesi Bassi), Le Havre per Parigi (Francia) e Southampton per Londra (Regno Unito) il venerdì. Con soggiorni prolungati in porto fino a 12 ore, gli ospiti potranno sfruttare al massimo il proprio tempo a terra
Crociere lunghe e mini-crociere:
Msc Divina, da Genova (Italia) e Barcellona (Spagna) offrirà crociere di 11 notti verso le isole Canarie, Marocco e Madeira in ottobre e novembre
Msc Poesia dal 25 settembre al 19 novembre 2023, offrirà viaggi di 11 notti con partenza da Genova (Italia) verso Grecia e Turchia. I punti salienti includono Kusadasi/Efeso e una visita di un giorno intero a Istanbul (Turchia), Pireo/Atene (Grecia), Palermo/Monreale e Civitavecchia/Roma (Italia)
Msc Sinfonia nell’ottobre 2023 offrirà crociere di 11 notti da Genova (Italia) a Civitavecchia/Roma, Messina/Taormina/Vulcano Etna (Italia), Rodi/Lindos; Limassol (Cipro) e Heraklion/Crete (Grecia) e Haifa (Israele)
Tante le mini crociere da tre a cinque notti da poter scegliere sia nella primavera che nell’autunno 2023 per scoprire le iconiche città che si affacciano sul Mediterraneo a bordo di Msc Orchestra in maggio e giugno e Msc Euribia e Msc Seaview in autunno. Anche la nuova ammiraglia Msc World Europa proporrà nell’aprile 2023 un breve tour di quattro notti che partirà da Genova e toccherà i porti di Barcellona e Marsiglia.

Msc Meraviglia da aprile 2023 navigherà tutto l’anno da New York offrendo una grande varietà di itinerari che andranno da sei a 11 notti di lunghezza, tra cui:
