Shia LaBeouf appears to be working on some sort of home improvement project.
The actor was spotted making his way out of a Home Depot in the Pasadena neighborhood of Los Angeles on Sunday.
And from the looks of the messy outfit he was wearing, that project has likely included some sort of painting, although on this day he did not appear to buy any paint products.
Hands on home improvement: Shia LaBeouf, 35, was seen walking out of a Home Depot in the Pasadena neighborhood of Los Angeles on Sunday
The Transformers star, 35, was seen making his way around the home improvement retailer, casually grabbing a number of items, in a black hoodie, seemingly doused in paint and/or spackling.
He also wore matching sweatpants that also had remnants of paint splattered on the front and back.
In keeping with his casual work ensemble, LaBeouf donned a pair of Nike sneakers that also looked like they had been worn during some home improvement projects.

LeBron James has had quite the clean resume over the course of 19 years in the NBA. In those 19 seasons, he’s only been ejected from a game twice. The most recent ejection was from this season where him and Detroit Pistons youngster, Isaiah Stewart, got into brawl that left Stewart in a bloodied mess.
James would have to forfeit his game check of nearly $300,000 against the Pistons that night. Of course, this isn’t something would dent ‘The King’s’ billion dollar net worth but it’s certainly an amount that shouldn’t be looked down upon by any means.

Feels a bit unfair that players have to pay money once they’ve been ejected. Well, that’s what happens with technical fines as a majority of them got for $2,000 a pop. LeBron James on the other hand, to pay up thrice the amount as he got himself ejected during a November game against the Miami Heat in 2017.
This ejection was fairly simple as LeBron James barreled to the rim in hopes of drawing contact. He certainly did achieve that but no foul was called on the play despite him believing Hassan Whiteside fouled him. This infuriated the eventual 4x champ and led him to bark at official, Kane Fitzgerald.

LeBron James had gone 1299 games without ever having been ejected and 14 years later, he finally experienced his first ejection. Since these were two techs he received before crossing 5 techs on the season, they both cost him $2K each. The ejection cost LeBron an extra $2,000, bringing his total losses on the night at $6,000.

The film will see Neeson teaming up again with director Hans Petter Moland, who previously directed the Academy Award-nominated actor in his 2019 action film Cold Pursuit. Thug will feature Neeson playing an aging gangster in San Pedro. When he attempts to reconnect with his kids and set right the mistakes he’s made, he finds that his life as a gangster is not so willing to let him go.
Neeson was nominated for an Academy Award in 1994 for his performance in Schindler’s List. In recent years, Neeson has shifted his career to become an action star. He famously starred in the Taken trilogy as well as such action films as The Commuter, Honest Theif, and the recently released Memory. Neeson has also recently been dabbling in comedy, having cameos in films like Ted 2 and shows like Derry Girls and Atlanta.

This Valentine’s Day, T asked five writers to compose a love letter (of sorts) to an actor or fictional character who has been nominated — or, in one case, passed over — this year for the 91st Academy Awards. Here, the writer Hilton Als, who curated the exhibition “God Made My Face: A Collective Portrait of James Baldwin,” on view now at David Zwirner gallery, shares a letter to the actor Rachel Weisz, who earned a nomination for best supporting actress for her role as Lady Sarah in “The Favourite.”
One of the more difficult aspects of life in Manhattan is finding a way to cope with acquaintances who toil in what is commonly referred to as the arts but who, despite producing plays, movies, books and the like, fail to make art. While talent or a lack thereof is certainly a factor when it comes to all this, what separates the true artist from the artist in name only, is a certain fearlessness, the ability to put one foot in front of the other without exactly knowing where they will land but trusting that the imprint they make will be distinctive, and look real in an imaginary world.
I first saw the artist Rachel Weisz onstage in the 2013 revival of Harold Pinter’s 1978 play, “Betrayal.” In it, Rachel played Emma, a woman on the run from love even as she rushes toward it. And what I remember about Rachel’s entrance — I did not know her then — was how alive she was to remorse and recklessness and possibility, a mournfulness that emanated from her being even before she said a word. Or filled one of Pinter’s famous pauses with the hope of love, or a gesture of defiance, or resignation. A stage performance is, perforce, different than working in film, but it was while watching her in “Betrayal” that I recalled the anguish she displays in the 2012 film “The Deep Blue Sea.” There, Rachel exhibited a similar understanding, or should I say intuitive grasp, of what it was like — is like — to be on the outs with one’s inner self. I saw “The Deep Blue Sea” at a sad time in my life, and I met Rachel several years after I had seen her work in that movie, and onstage, and what she responded to almost at once was how my sadness was turning to something like hope.
As an artist and preternaturally optimistic person, Rachel wanted me to use my sadness and tentative joy in the work I meant to do, and that Rachel wanted me to do. (She is as romantic and realistic about writers as I am about performers.) This is more unusual than you think. In a world where the talented and untalented alike live and work under a number of insecurities and emotional demands no amount of attention can ever satisfy, envy and competition are par for the course. But you won’t find those ugly stones on Rachel’s course. She’s as interested in my process and where it might lead me as an artist as she is in her own, and yours, too. I never have to lie to her out of politeness, or to protect our friendship, because as a performer and as a woman, she insists on the truth. She has helped save my life in a number of ways, including helping to steer me back to life and, specifically, the complications and satisfaction to be found in love, and I love her for it.

Since García Bernal’s feature debut “Deficit,” selected for Cannes’ Critics’ Week in 2007, he has continued to direct: a segment of “Revolución,” for example, an episode of “Mozart in the Jungle,” which won him a Golden Globe as an actor, and the pilot for Fox Networks Group Latin America’s “Here on Earth,” which he showran and which won the inaugural Zurich Series Award last year.
A dramedy, “Chicuarotes” is, however, García Bernal’s second feature as a director.
Playing out of competition at Cannes as a special screening, “Chicuarotes” turns on two teens,Cagalera and Moloteco, from San Gregorio Atlapulco district of Mexico City who, desperate to escape from poverty, get the chance to buy membership of an electricians’ guild, which can transform their lives. Attempting to raise the money, however, they spiral ever deeper into Mexico’s dark criminal world.
“Chicuarotes” stars young actors Benny Emmanuel, Gabriel Carbajal and Leidi Gutiérrez, playing alongside the well-known Daniel Giménez Cacho and Dolores Heredia.

“‘Chicuarotes’ is an amphibious fable of Mexico City’s past and present,” said García Bernal. “Confronted by the desperation of today’s youth, which is so painful to witness, can any light be shone on a terrible question: What is the origin of a violence which never seems to end?”

“The film gave us the certainty of a latent,somewhat subject answer which is little explored,” he added, noting that “It’s there, in the struggle to encounter a harmony between land, ourselves and water, where vegetables and all the answers grow.We have to take advantage of the opportunity that cinema gives us to create communities, to explore all of this.”
Written by Augusto Mendoza, whose screenwriting credits take in Luna’s “Mr. Pig” and “Abel,” “Chicuarotes” is a production of La Corriente del Golfo and Cinematográfica Amaranto in co-production with Televisa and Pulse Films. It is produced by Marta Núñez Puerto, Gael García Bernal and Thomas Benski.
Cinépolis Distribución, the go-ahead distribution arm of exhibition giant Cinépolis, acquired rights for all Latin America to “Chicuarotes” in an deal announced last September. Cinépolis Distribución will open “Chicuarotes” Mexico on June 28.

Gerard Butler is one of those actors that has made his mark in Hollywood and abroad with significant performances in blockbuster films, as well as tantalizing action thrillers that hit close to home. With starring performances in hit films like 300, The Phantom of the Opera, and Law Abiding Citizen, we can always rely on Butler to entertain us with his charisma and Scottish charm (if not always turning in Oscar-worthy performances). However, some of Butler’s most uproarious films weren’t always the box office stunners we hoped they’d be. Recently, one of Gerard Butler’s most intriguing movies hit Netflix, and according to FlixPatrol, is climbing the trending charts to the #4 spot. That film is director Christian Gudegast’s 2018 action thriller Den of Thieves.
When it was released in 2018, Den of Thieves became another one of Gerard Butler’s box office surprises, grossing $80 million against a $30 million budget. The film starred Butler as Detective “Big Nick” O’Brien, a Los Angeles police officer with a bit of a problem with alcohol. He is part of a special unit of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department tasked with stopping a bank robbery heist on the Federal Reserve Bank. Costarring with Butler was an ensemble cast that included Pablo Schreiber as Ray Merrimen, the leader of the bank robbery crew, O’Shea Jackson Jr. as Donnie Wilson, a robber and expert getaway driver, as well as rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Enson Levoux, another one of the robbers that joins Merrimen’s crew. Most of the bank robbers were former US Marine veterans, part of the United States Marine Forces Special Operations Command, who seize control of an armored truck at the beginning of the film, resulting in a shootout with local police that injures some and kills others. O’Brien is determined to investigate the situation and capture anyone who was involved before the heist at the Federal Reserve Bank takes place in Downtown Los Angeles.
Even though Den of Thieves did decently well at the box office and broke some industry projections at the time, critics were decidedly mixed on the Gerard Butler thriller. As of this writing, Rotten Tomatoes has the film at 42% on its Tomatometer, with an Audience Score sitting at 62%. On Metacritic, the movie has a Metascore of 49 from critics, with a User Score of 6.3, which is generally favored among its 119 user ratings. However, that hasn’t seemed to stop Netflix subscribers from flocking to the film over Mother’s Day weekend. According to Cinema Blend, it’s currently trending at #4, down from the #3 spot one week prior.
As far as preparation for the movie went, Gerard Butler was taking no prisoners and hiding nothing from the camera. The film takes place in Los Angeles but was filmed in Atlanta. As he explained to Extra in a video posted when Den of Thieves was in production, Butler was intent on gaining 25 to 30 pounds for his role as Nick O’Brien, which he allegedly achieved by eating a lot of steak each night and going to the gym every chance he got. Butler’s costar Pablo Schreiber also hit the gym to bulk up for his role as the film’s lead villain, as demonstrated in a photo posted to Instagram back when the two were filming the movie. This photo came out right before the initial release of Den of Thieves, which shows Schreiber putting on extra muscles for his debut as Ray Merrimen in a bit of a behind-the-scenes action pose.
With not a lot of outward display of affection towards the film when it was originally released in 2018, Den of Thieves seems to have stood the test of time when it comes to streaming audiences. The Excellence Award is given to outstanding actors who have contributed to the film scene. Previous awardees include Susan Sarandon, John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe, Isabelle Huppert, Juliette Binoche, Edward Norton and Ethan Hawke.
“The Locarno Film Festival’s Excellence Award goes to actors who have followed significant, courageous paths. Thus far the recipients have all been American or European, but for me it was important to open up this prize to the Asian cinema,” said Lili Hinstin, Artistic Director of the Locarno Film Festival.
“Song might not be a household name for audiences in the West, but his face is familiar around the world. A many-faceted actor, he is a peerless interpreter of the variety and intensity of emotions generated by Korean cinema, at ease in anything from drama to hard-boiled thriller.”
Hinstin also added, “Who if not Song Kang-ho can embody in a single performance all the excellence of Korean filmmaking over the past 20 years?”
Meanwhile, Song’s latest work “Parasite” has been selected for competition at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival. The local release is slated for May 30.
This year’s Locarno Film Festival will take place from Aug. 7 to 17. Song will receive the Excellence Award at an awards ceremony held on Aug. 12. On the next day, he will attend a panel discussion.
