If you worked remotely in 2021, it’s worth making sure you understand your tax obligations this tax-filing season. Depending on a variety of factors, including your state of residence, the length of time you worked where you did, and possibly the location of your business, you may need to file more than one tax return.
“If you’ve spent a lot of time working in another state in the past year, you’ll most likely be subject to income tax there,” said Jared Walczak, vice president of state projects for the Tax Foundation.

It can be complicated. Different states have different approaches to when they expect you to tell them about the income you earned while there.
For example, some states allow nonresidents to work within their borders for at least 30 days with no obligation to withhold. Thresholds in other states are taking effect more quickly, including 23 that expect you to pay taxes from the first day you work there. And still others have a tax threshold based on wages, while nine states have no income tax.
Be aware that your state of residence generally has the right to tax your income regardless of where it was earned. The bigger question is whether another state also has the power to do so.
Most states offer a tax credit that is deducted from what you owe to the nonresident jurisdiction where you worked and owe taxes. However, the credit may not completely eliminate the amount paid to the second state if its tax rate is higher than that of your place of residence.
“Sometimes tax credits help, but sometimes they don’t,” said April Walker, senior tax practice and ethics officer at the American Institute of CPAs. “They are not a dollar-for-dollar compensation. »

Cuba autorizó a una nueva institución financiera para que gestione las remesas y realice otras operaciones de transferencia luego de que Washington incluyera en una lista negra a Fincimex, durante 20 años contraparte de Western Union, la principal compañía de envío de dinero desde Estados Unidos.
La Gaceta Oficial publicó la resolución firmada por la presidenta del Banco Central de Cuba (BCC), Martha Sabina Wilson, de aceptar la solicitud de Orbit S.A de “gestionar y tramitar transferencias internacionales desde el extranjero hacia Cuba” y “prestar servicios de pagos desde el extranjero a través de su infraestructura”.
Hasta noviembre de 2020 las remesas eran operadas por Western Union con Fincimex, pero en el marco del endurecimiento de las sanciones de Estados Unidos a la isla, en octubre de ese año el gobierno del entonces presidente Donald Trump canceló el permiso para la empresa de su país e incluyó a Fincimex en un listado de empresas restringidas argumentando que la contraparte cubana formaba parte de un conglomerado bajo administración militar.
Se desconoce el origen de la firma Orbit S.A salvo por el hecho de que la resolución del BCC indicó en sus consideraciones que fue constituida el “3 de febrero de 2020 con sede en La Habana”. Tampoco si Western Unión retomará su acuerdo con la isla con esta nueva institución financiera o cuándo se hará efectivo el ingreso de remesas.

കൊവിഡ് കാലത്ത് സർക്കാർ കർഷകർക്കൊപ്പം നിന്നു. ഉത്പന്നങ്ങൾക്ക് റെക്കോർഡ് താങ്ങ് വില സർക്കാർ നൽകിയിരുന്നു. തൊഴിലില്ലായ്മ രൂക്ഷമെന്ന പ്രതിപക്ഷ ആരോപണം തെറ്റാണ്. 2017-ന് ശേഷം ഐടി മേഖലയിൽ 27 ലക്ഷം പേർക്ക് ജോലി കിട്ടിയിരുന്നു. 2021-ൽ പിഎഫ് പേ റോളിലുള്ളത് 1.20 കോടി പേരാണ്. രാജ്യത്തിൻ്റെ സമ്പദ് വ്യവസ്ഥയും കൂടുതൽ മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട് വരികയാണ്.
കൊവിഡ് നിയന്ത്രണത്തിൽ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിമാരെ വിശ്വാസത്തിലെടുത്താണ് സർക്കാർ മുന്നോട്ട് പോയത്. 23 തവണ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിമാരുടെ യോഗം ചേർന്നു. സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളെ കേന്ദ്രം പരിഗണിക്കുന്നില്ലെന്ന വാദം അംഗീകരിക്കാനാവില്ല. 64000 കോടി രൂപയാണ് സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾക്ക് കേന്ദ്രം നൽകിയത്
എന്നാൽ രാജ്യത്തെ അപമാനിക്കാനാണ് ഇപ്പോഴും ചിലർ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നത്. രാജ്യത്തിൻ്റെ മോശം ചിത്രം വരയ്ക്കാനാണ് കോൺഗ്രസിന് താൽപര്യം. യഥാർത്ഥ നേതാവ് ഒരിക്കലും അശുഭാപ്തി വിശ്വാസക്കാരനാകരുത്. ഇന്ത്യയെ നല്ല വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ നിർത്താനാണ് ശ്രമിക്കേണ്ടത്. വാക്സിനേഷനെ പോലും മോശമായി ചിത്രീകരിക്കാൻ ശ്രമമുണ്ടായി. വാക്സിനേഷനിലും രാഷട്രീയം കലർത്തി. സർവ്വകക്ഷി യോഗങ്ങളിലൊന്നും കോൺഗ്രസ് പങ്കെടുത്തില്ല.

Pep Guardiola has played down footage showing Jack Grealish, Kyle Walker and Riyad Mahrez at a night out in Manchester over the weekend and joked he was only upset he hadn’t invited him.
The video, in which it is claimed Grealish was refused entry to a Manchester bar because he was ‘too drunk’, has gone viral on social media, but Guardiola insists the behavior of his players was “perfect”.
Guardiola berated Grealish and Phil Foden when they were pictured partying after a 7-0 win over Leeds in December, but on that occasion he insisted his players had done nothing wrong , after having dinner with members of his team backstage.
“I’m so upset because they didn’t invite me and I don’t like that,” he joked during his press conference ahead of Manchester City’s Premier League tie with Brentford on Wednesday.
“Next time, I hope they can invite me.
“The video does not show exactly what happened. Having dinner together, sober, enjoying with their friends and some of the staff in the back room.
“The players know that they are taking risks by going out because today there are social networks but they have all been perfect.

Cheerful music plays 24/7 over loudspeakers, but ambulances turn off their sirens and funeral cars go unmarked. No one wants to be reminded of death.
It has its own newspaper and radio station – run by management – which broadcast only positive stories.
Even the perfect grass is not what it seems. Signs warn residents to keep children and pets away as lawns are filled with chemicals.
Not that management expects many children. The Villages has 54 golf courses, 70 swimming pools and 3,000 social clubs, but only one playground.
This is because you have to be 55 or older to live there.
It is now the largest retirement community in America, having erased existing towns to expand into an area larger than Manhattan.
Some 150,000 people now live in the 81 “villages” that make up the giant suburb, an hour’s drive north of Orlando.
The Schwartz family who developed the ever-expanding plot are now billionaires.
“The Villages is a place so honed towards perfection that it can’t maintain that perfection, it’s just not possible,” Valerie Blankenbyl told news.com.au.
She spent time living in the community to film her documentary The Bubble, which is screening this week at the Sydney Antenna film festival.
Valerie said most residents – known as villagers – wouldn’t hear a bad word against it.
The development is billed as an “active retirement community” and residents need to stay busy.
Days are filled with lunchtime karaoke, cardio drumming, belly dancing and cheerleading lessons, and even synchronized golf cart displays.
And the day to drink – lots and lots to drink during the day, says Valerie.
“Happy no matter what day it is,” a local says to his wife in the documentary as he pours another cocktail on the veranda.
Valerie said the residents she met were all friendly, reflecting the “playful” nature of the community.
“We know we’re in a bubble,” says another villager in the film. “But it’s a nice bubble.”

But critics say there’s something wrong – even “sinister” – with this constructed romance.
Valerie didn’t have to travel far to see local opposition to the development.
“It wasn’t something you could get away from because as soon as you walked through the gates you see all these signs saying ‘Stop the Villages,'” she said.
People living nearby worry about the perceived lack of accountability and encroachment on established communities – some of which have now disappeared.
“You kept hearing inside the Villages that there was nothing before where the Villages are now,” Valerie said.
“But there was nothing. There was a community there and that was where people congregated and now it’s all gone.
Then there’s the massive use of water to keep the grass green and the pools filled. Activists say the development has lowered the water table and led to shortages and sinkholes.
Above all, what bothers outsiders is how the company that runs The Villages has tried to separate it from its neighbors.
The owners have installed arrow gates on the access roads to give the appearance of a gated community, even though it is public land.
This fooled many locals for years who thought they were off limits.
Valerie also said that management tried to get their film crew to leave, even though they thought they had a legal right to be there, and tried to stop residents from talking to them.

She said many villagers were unaware of the controversy around the development or didn’t care about life outside the bubble.
Cheerful, positive and loving where they lived, they preferred to focus on health, socializing and looking their best, she said.
But that unrelenting optimism is one of the most unsettling aspects of life in The Villages, an academic who studies aging told the filmmakers.

“Because even in a place full of old people, you have no right to be old or elderly.

ഇക്കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം സഹാറൻപുരിൽ വൻ റാലിയെ അഭിസംബോധന ചെയ്ത് മായാവതി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു: ‘ബിഎസ്പി നിർജീവമല്ല. എല്ലായിടത്തും മത്സരിക്കും. അധികാരത്തിലെത്തും’. അതു കേട്ട് ആവേശം പൂണ്ട അണികൾ വിളിച്ചു: സബ് സമാജ് കേ സമ്മാൻ മേം, ബഹൻജി മൈതാൻ മേം (എല്ലാ സമുദായങ്ങളുടെയും അന്തസ്സിനായി ബഹൻജി ഇതാ പോരിനിറങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു).
